Originally from Ottawa, Serena’s approach to rehabilitation combines her precision of technique and client-first mentality.
Serena is a dedicated Kinesiologist with a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Kinesiology from Brock University, and a Graduate Degree in Exercise Science and Lifestyle Management from Humber College. Certified as a personal trainer and registered with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK), she is recognized as a qualified professional. Her diverse experience spans a variety of populations – acute injury, chronic pain, chronic disease, athletes, first responders, spinal cord injury, pre and post-surgical, pediatric, geriatric and motor vehicle accident (MVA) clients. She also has acquired her GLA:D certification and Neuro Exercise Specialist certification for osteoarthritis and spinal cord injury/neuro populations. This versatility allows her to tailor programs to meet unique needs and goals.
Serena played top-tier hockey, football, and during her university years, was a varsity rower at Brock. Through these decades of athletic experience, she has learned proper management of her own injuries, helping to bridge the gap into her work and have a better understanding of her clients.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, bouldering, and watching her favourite show, Friends.
